Start fundraising to help people living with neuromuscular conditions and their families access information, connection and advocacy.

Raise funds in a way that works for you. Host a bake sale, take on a physical challenge, ask for donations instead of birthday gifts, or bring people together at work, school or in your community. However you get involved, you'll help create opportunities for people living with neuromuscular conditions to connect, learn, build confidence and access the support they need.

Fundraise your way

Get creative and turn something you love into a fundraiser. Host a garage sale, morning tea, trivia night or community event, or take on a personal challenge. However you choose to get involved, you'll support people living with neuromuscular conditions and their families.

At work

Bring your workplace together for a good cause. Host a morning tea, raffle or team fundraising challenge, or encourage your colleagues to get together as a team for an event like City2Surf. It's a great way to build team spirit while making a difference.

At school

Get your school community involved with a mufti day, sausage sizzle, bake sale, sports challenge or awareness activity. Fundraising at school is a fun way to learn about giving back and supporting people living with neuromuscular conditions.

In memory

Honour the life of someone special by fundraising in their memory. Whether through donations, a commemorative event or a tribute page, it's a meaningful way to celebrate their legacy and create a lasting impact for others.

In celebration

Celebrate life's special moments by asking for donations instead of gifts. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other milestones can become an opportunity to create impact.

Take on a Challenge

Push yourself while supporting a cause you care about. From fun runs and walks to cycling, swimming and adventure challenges, there are plenty of ways to test your limits and fundraise for MDNSW at the same time.

People Like You Are Making a Difference

“Running the half marathon was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I didn’t stop. I was proud of what I raised, but even prouder to use the opportunity to raise awareness of muscular dystrophy. My hope is that I can make a difference, and that one of the dollars I raise moves the research closer to a cure.”

Owen Sargeant
MDNSW Community Fundraiser

At 72, Owen took on a half marathon for a cause close to his heart, raising awareness and l funds for people living with neuromuscular conditions. By sharing his story and rallying support from family, friends and the wider community, he showed how one person can make a meaningful difference.

Now it's your turn to make an impact, your way. Start your fundraiser today.

Why fundraise

“I signed up for the Larapinta Adventure to raise money for MDNSW and support a community that means so much to me. I wanted to do something meaningful to ensure breaks and retreats can continue to run. Taking on the Larapinta Trail felt like the perfect way to challenge myself and combine my love for adventure with my passion for making a difference.”

Blake Greuter
MDNSW Community Fundraiser

After years of volunteering at MDNSW’s programs for children and young people, Blake took his support one step further by turning a personal challenge into an opportunity to give back and fundraise for the neuromuscular community.

Turn your passion into purpose and
fundraise your way.

Your fundraising creates connection

When Josh was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular condition at just one year old, his family didn't know what the future would hold. Like many parents, they hoped he would enjoy the experiences every child deserves.

At five years old, Josh attended his first MDNSW overnight program. From swimming to laser tag, Josh embraced every opportunity. He returned home more confident, more independent and eager for his next adventure.

"He just GLOWS. He spoke non-stop for the first week about [Summer Break]!"
– Josh's Mum

For Josh, this was a place where he could simply be a kid, try new things and discover what he was capable of.

Fundraising makes moments like these possible. Every dollar raised helps MDNSW deliver programs that give people living with neuromuscular conditions the chance to build confidence, independence and lifelong friendships.

Start fundraising today and help more children like Josh discover their potential.
